Transformation in Violent Times
This is the 1st Collection create by the Costa Rican Artist Juan Carlos Chavarría, with approximately half a ton of parts of destroyed weapons, made up of 21 Large Format ArtWorks, all inspired by transcendental Human Values. More than 30 Exhibition Events have been held in the main Museums, Banks and most important spaces in Costa Rica. All the destroyed weapons come from robberies, homicides and violent acts and have been confiscated by the different police forces of Costa Rica, destroyed by the Costa Rican General Direction of Armaments and with the support of the Organization of American States (OAS). The Original ArtWorks are not, nor will they be, for sale, because a Museum for Peace will be created and they will be the main Collection and attraction of this Museum. It’s important to mention that the Artist uses the number 7 in all his Artworks, that is, all the parts are counted to give 7 or multiples of 7, this is because the Artist considers that the number 7 is the number of the transformation, the number of God and a number found in many aspects of our life: 7 days of the week, 7 colors of the rainbow, 7 musical notes, etc.
